If you marry a jealous spouse, your marriage is bound to be in trouble
A marriage counsellor, Mrs Ola Madari has advised youngsters who are due for marriage not to marry jealous spouses. Madari, the coordinator of the Family Victory Marriage Counselling Home, said that a partner who possesses the said attribute may later become an abuser.
She said in an interview that eliminating the feelings of jealousy may be difficult after marriage. “Jealousy is one of the greatest destroyer of relationships and marriages, and the reason is that it creates feelings of anger and frustration in the one who is being accused of infidelity. “Jealousy is like poison and it already dwells in the blood; if one of the partners possesses it, there won’t be trust. “In case you are in a relationship and the man doesn’t trust you or he does not believe in whatever you tell him, please flee from such a man. “If you marry a jealous spouse, your marriage is bound to be in trouble because there will be feelings of frustration and worry. “Maintaining a healthy marital relationship is like tending to a garden; it needs lots of attention, but a jealous spouse will not raise a healthy and happy crop,” she said. Madari also advised that marriage should be based on trust, not on fear, frustration or worry. She, however, advised those who are married to jealous spouses to seek marriage therapists, who will counsel them on how to handle the issues.

Court dissolves 16-year-old union over unmatched genotype
An Ilorin Area Court today dissolved the marriage between Aminat and Tunji Ajise.
Aminat, a resident of Balogun Fulani Area, Ilorin, asked the court to dissolve her marriage to Ajise over unmatched genotype and lack of care.
She said that their marriage was contracted in year 2000 and had produced three children of which one has sickle cell genotype.
“My husband abandoned me and the children since he got to know that our first child has sickle cell genotype; he refuses to give me and my children money and food.
“My lord, I am tired of his nonchalant attitude; he has shown me that he does not need me and his children anymore,” Aminat told the court.
The plaintiff added that the defendant abandoned her and his children to move in with another woman since January 2016.
“My Lord, I want an end to this marriage because I can’t continue to hurt my emotion over an irresponsible husband,” she said.
The defendant, who did not object to the prayer of his wife, told the court “she is free to go.”
The presiding judge, Mr. Ibrahim AbdulKadri, dissolved the marriage and issued a certificate of divorce to the plaintiff.

Why make so much noise during sex?!
Have you ever woken up the morning after some mind-blowing sex and think: “Why did I tell him all that stuff while we were cuddling last night?” Apparently, you’re not unique. Recent research shows that women who had an orgasm disclosed more of their positive thoughts and feeling about their partner afterward than those who didn’t climax—and they don’t feel as if they’re taking a risk by doing that. Blame it on your brain chemicals making you feel trusting.
According to experts, an orgasm triggers the release of oxytocin, the feel-good neuro- chemical that also makes spooning (lying front to back with your partners) feet amazing. “People get loose-lipped after an orgasm because the oxytocin makes them think it’s the right time to say gooey things,” explains author Amanda Denes.

Housewife Allegedly kills Husband Over Christmas Rice in Bayelsa
A housewife, identified as Mrs. Favour Parker, has allegedly clubbed her husband, Leo Parker, to death at Ekeki, a suburb of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, following an argument over last Christmas rice. The woman, who has since been arrested by the men of the Anti-Vice Squad of the Bayelsa State Police Command, according to sources, was accused by her husband of collecting N27,000 to buy a bag of ‘foreign’ rice for the family ahead of the Christmas celebration, but bought local rice at N10,000. According to a family source, though the argument over the purchase of rice and the alleged diversion of N17,000 started on December 23, 2016, the angry wife allegedly killed her husband last Saturday, following a heated argument in their room.
Though the late husband was the one responsible for buying the rice and other food items for the Yuletide celebration in line with the family tradition, it was gathered that the wife insisted on buying the commodity and other food stuff.

5 tips for couples that constantly break up and get back together
How to avoid the vicious cycle—and what to do if you get stuck in it
Some couples love to travel together, others enjoy fusion restaurants.
And then there are those couples that like to fight viciously, break up, hook up two weeks later, and then decide to get back together—until they inevitably break up again.
You probably know a couple like that. And when you’re watching the destruction from a safe distance, it’s easy to cast judgment.
But being part of a couple that can’t cut the cord can be a frustrating, alienating experience—albeit an increasingly common one.

Woman beats her fiancé with wooden plank over engagement ring.Lol
A Florida woman was recently arrested after whacking her fiancé with a wooden plank with 1-inch nails on the end, according to a report from CBS 47 in Jacksonville. It may sound like the kind of run-of-the-mill, wooden-plank-with-nails fight that two angry lovers conceivably have in Florida on a typical Tuesday, but this smackdown had an extra wrinkle: Enrevie Bendejo, 25, walloped her man after arguing with him over her engagement ring.
The report doesn’t specify exactly how the day-long dispute started, so Bendejo could’ve been pissed about the size of her rock, or the type of the stone, or even how it fit on her fingers—all important factors when deciding what kind of ring to buy your boo. We don’t know. But Nassau County cops showed up to break up a fight between the newly engaged couple, and arrested Bendejo, pictured above, after they saw her walking away from her 36-year-old fiancé with plank in hand.

We are Working to Legislate Against Early Marriages says Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II
Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II has said that the Kano Emirate Council and the government of Kano state are working towards enacting a law that will stop early marriage in Northern Nigeria. The monarch who is an ardent advocate against the practice of early marriage, said this at his investiture ceremony as the Grand Patron for Women and Children Healthcare by the United Nation’s Population Fund in Kano yesterday January 9th.
According to the Emir, the practice of early marriage has made many girls lose their lives as most of them die while giving birth at such young age.
“Women are married in Northern Nigeria at a tender age thereby leading her to lose her life, the child and the indices are there for each state. Some people attribute the death and challenges to God but we know that God does not dislike us. Why is it that the indices are worst in the north? I call on our imams to address this. It is a shame that the UN had to come and tell us how to look after our children. We are the ones to do it and we should not wait for the UN’’ he said

pregnant woman allegedly beaten to death by her husband on Christmas day
According to the Emmanuel Ugwuonye who shared the story on the Due
Process Advocate Facebook group, the pregnant lady was allegedly
brutally beaten by her partner on Christmas day until she bled to
death. He wrote;
WHY IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP HAMMERING ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. Many times I have tried to shift attention away from domestic violence. But there are reasons why I could not do that. First, it is one of the aims and objectives listed on DPA Constitution. Second, everyday there is a new domestic violence case begging for my attention. That is; everyday some wife-beater beats his woman, and even kills her like in this case.

South african olympic Gold medalist Lesbian Caster Semenya Marries Long-term Girlfriend in Extravagant Wedding Ceremony
South Africa Olympic gold medalist, Caster Semenya has married her long time partner in an elaborate ‘white wedding’ ceremony yesterday which coincided with her birthday.
The 800m Olympic gold medalist wore a ‘Prince Charming-style’ outfit of embroidered jacket, gold breeches and velvet slippers for the ceremony which saw her wed Violet Raseboya, who wore a full-length white lace and appliqué dress.
The overjoyed athlete took to Instagram to share photos of the ceremony. The event which took place in the capital, Pretoria was attended by the couple’s friends, relatives, scores of local celebrities and athletes, followed a traditional ceremony a little over a year ago when Caster, who turned 26 yesterday, reportedly paid a dowry of £1,500 to her bride’s family.
Unlike many high profile weddings, guests were left free to capture their own film and images of the day, which were widely shared across social media, prompting positive comments and feedback.
Posted images included the women posing in family groups, with bridesmaids and attendants, and even Violet having her make-up done for the ceremony. She wore her dark hair in an ‘up-do’ and finished with a diamante band.
Guests were given ‘thank you’ gifts of bottles of wine, with special labels featuring the lovers, from the upmarket Uitkyk wine estate near Cape Town.
In one particularly intimate snapshot, the women are seeing clasping each others hands solemnly – apparently at the very moment when they were formally united in marriage.Caster’s victory at the Olympics in Rio last summer was the most bitterly contested event of the games – and she credited Violet, 30, and her home fans with providing the strength and confidence to confront her critics, or ‘haters’ as she called them.
The runner, who has naturally elevated levels of testosterone and was forced to undergo humiliating gender testing to prove she was female, was once forced to take medicine to suppress her testosterone amid claims she had an unfair advantage.
The rules have since been challenged which means she can now compete without the medication, which provoked protest from her fellow competitors in Rio. She was born with no womb or ovaries and instead, due to a chromosomal abnormality, internal testes. She spent 11 months on the athletics sidelines while she had tests but was cleared to compete in 2010.
By this time the International Association of Athletics Federations had set a testosterone threshold. It meant Caster could run again if she took medicine to suppress her testosterone levels.
The ruling was then challenged by Indian runner Dutee Chand, who also has hyperandrogenism. In 2015, the Court of Arbitration for Sport suspended the rules for two years, meaning Caster could come off the medication.
Critics agree the way she has been treated has shamed the sport, and harks back to 1966 when female competitors at the European Athletics Championship were subjected to a ‘nude parade’ past three gynaecologists.
